Department of Population Health Academic Programs

The Department of Population Health offers the following academic degree programs:

• Bachelor of Science听in Public Health
  • The Public Health program is designed to prepare students to work in voluntary health organizations, in local, state and national government health agencies, or in worksite wellness.
• Master of Public Health
  • The Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Degree program offered through the University of Toledo.听This Program is accredited by Council on Education for Public Health (). Information about the MPH and its majors is available at

• Master of Science in Occupational Health--Industrial Hygiene听

  • The MSOH-IH degree consists of courses and research designed to prepare and qualify students for entry and upper-level positions as Industrial Hygienists at governmental agencies, manufacturing and service industries, consulting firms, insurance agencies, healthcare organizations, union organizations and academic institutions. In addition the curriculum will benefit those intending to eventually take applicable certification exams such as the American Board of Industrial Hygiene CIH and/or Board Certified Safety Professionals CSP exam. The MSOH-IH program is accredited by ABET.

• Graduate Certificates听
  • Seven Graduate Certificates are offered by the Department of Population Health. The graduate certificates were created to offer students an opportunity to learn about various areas of public health without the commitment to a degree program. Graduate certificates require 12-15 credit hours, depending on the certificate. A summary of all graduate certificates can be found here.

The division faculty offer a variety of courses under the course acronyms of HEAL, representing all health education undergraduate and graduate courses, and PUBH, representing all Master in Public Health and Master of Science in Occupational Health courses.听
