Disclosures
The Technology Transfer Office (TTO) requires faculty, student, and staff inventors to submit a disclosure form to begin the formal technology transfer process. Be careful not to disclose your new invention to anyone outside ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· before a confidential disclosure agreement is in place or a patent application is filed.Â
Please contact the TTO before disclosing your invention via poster presentation, publication, or any other method of communication (including social media) so we can advise you of the appropriate protection for your technology.

Invention Disclosures:Â
submit for any patentable technology not considered a research resource. Inventors
should fully describe an idea so the options for commercialization can be evaluated
and pursued.
Research Tool Disclosures:Â
submit for any new technology considered a research resource used in the laboratory, which includes cell lines, antibodies, proteins,
peptides, reagents, animal models, growth factors, clones and cloning tools.
Inventor PortalÂ
Current faculty, students, and staff:Â access the using your UTAD credentials (the same sign in for the myUT portal).
Former faculty or students:Â must request a (this includes all users with inactive UTAD credentials).Â
1. First, select the Submit Your Disclosure button (below) or use this to the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· Inventor Portal.Â
2. Next, choose Add New Disclosure from the left menu to open the "New Disclosure" screen:

- Add the Title of the Invention/Research Tool;
- Choose the Type of Disclosure (Invention or Research Tool);
- Click the Create New Disclosure to continue to the "Disclosure" window.
3. In the "Disclosure" window:Â

- Verify the Disclosure Type – select before proceeding (top left of form);Â
- Enter the invention information by reviewing each numbered section (optional sections are also available);
- Select Submit for Review to complete the form (the status will change from Draft to Submitted).
Licensing Associates will only review completed disclosures (i.e., no longer in the Draft Review Stage).Â
