Application Process
Thank you for your interest in the Orthopaedic Surgery program at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. Applications for residency are accepted only through (Electronic Residency Application Service). The department also participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and four residents will be selected to join the five year program.

Interviews
Interviews are by invitation only, and are routinely held during December of each year.Ìý Approximately 100 applicants will be selected for an interview. Our program does participate in the 's universal offer day and process.
Our program will host in-person interviews for the ERAS 2025 interview season.
Our program does participate in signaling.
Interview invitations and scheduling are managed using the platform. Invitations are sent through Thalamus and link to our interview schedule. Candidates may manually schedule on a first-come first-reserved basis according to the set schedule. Candidates may elect to waitlist for different dates, however may only be scheduled for one interview day.

What is your Criteria for Selection of Residents?
Residents are selected for interview on the basis of preparedness, ability, aptitude,
academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation
and integrity and specifically to include the following:
- Educational Accomplishments (including Honors, Grades)
- Board Scores
- Letters of Recommendation
- Medical School Performance
How many letters of recommendation do you require?
We require three letters of recommendation; however,Ìýadditional letters are accepted.
Do you require a letter from the Chairman/ Chief/ Program Director of Orthopaedics?
No.
Do you require additional information outside of ERAS (i.e. SAT scores, MCAT scores,
etc.)?
No.
Do you require a curriculum vitae (CV) other then the ERAS version?

No. Our Orthopaedic Residency Training Program is "categorical,"ÌýPGY 1 through PGY
5 years of training.
