About the Display:听The display features:

• Chrome Green pigment听used to create the green color seen on the murals at Lourdes University. Chrome Green is made from chromic oxide
• Glazed tiles听glazed with Chrome Green pigment听
• An image of a mural听which can be seen on the walls of Lourdes University
• The front of a pamphlet from the Alverno Art Studio at Lourdes University听where the pigment and tiles were made.听
• Pure chromium metal听which can be used in stainless steel and other alloys, or to create different pigments of paint

Cobalt compounds now in the Chromium display:

• A glazed tile听from Lourdes University, glazed with Cobalt (II) Carbonate. The pigment appears pink before being used as a glaze
• A blue tile听glazed with cobalt (II) carbonate
• An image of a mural at Lourdes University听featuring several blue glazed tiles similar to the one in the display

About the Contributor:听 is a Catholic and Franciscan university located in Sylvania, Ohio. The Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences (pictured) donated all items in the chromium display box.听
