Umbrella Organizations

An umbrella organization is a registered student organization that serves as a coordinating agency for other smaller, related student organizations.聽Umbrella organizations must have clearly outlined criteria for determining when another organization would fit under their 鈥渦mbrella鈥.聽 These criteria must be clearly communicated in the umbrella organization鈥檚 constitution. Also, each聽organization under the umbrella should submit its own annual report each year by the deadline.

Umbrella organizations may apply for an operating budget and special funding. Member organizations cannot apply for an annual operating budget but may still apply for special funding as long as they are currently in good standing with the Office of Student Engagement. They should communicate directly with their umbrella organization to make sure their funding needs are included in the budget request each year.
